Re-Opening Well Task Force UPDATE – July, 11 2021
At Towson Church, we are blessed to have a professional, caring Re-Opening Well Volunteer Task Force that continues to utilize its skills and knowledge to help our church develop and maintain appropriate wellness protocols. During the COVID-19 period, Task Force team members closely monitored all recommendations (state/local governments, Centers for Disease Control, and United Methodist conference) to embrace safety strategies for keeping Towson Church a healthy and safe space. As a result, we successfully hosted indoor Sunday worship and Youth Group gatherings, facilitated group meetings, welcomed new pastors, and connected with our church family in creative ways. Now, it’s time to transform our guidelines to meet the improved coronavirus conditions in Maryland!
As of July 11, 2021, the Task Force has approved the following thoughtful amendments to our current COVID safety guidelines:
- Fully vaccinated members and friends may enter the church building unmasked.
- Physical distancing is still encouraged for everyone.
- Adults who work with children must remain masked at all times.
- Mask wearing and physical distancing is required around all children on church campus.
- Mask wearing is required in all staff/pastor offices.
- Singing is permitted.
- Hymnals, Bibles, and individually-wrapped communion elements remain in the Sanctuary.
- The Save-a-Seat check-in system remains in effect.
- Mask wearing is not required outdoors, unless you are unable to maintain a safe distance OR you are near a child.
Thank you for your responsiveness and faithfulness!
